The Best Cheese Biscuits for Dogs

This recipe is for dogs, but there's nothing in it that wouldn't be good for people too.  I have yet to see a dog who didn't love these easy to make treats.  And people like the way you can use different cookie cutters to match the occasion.  I like to use Bunny and Kitty shaped cookie cutters, but you can use Christmas, Valentine or any other holiday shaped cookie cutters.  Of course you could be traditional and use a bone shaped cutter too.

1 1/2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour

1 1/2 Cups Grated Cheddar Cheese

1/4 Pound of Corn Oil Margarine

1 Clove of Crushed Garlic

Pinch of Salt

Small Amount of Milk

Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature.  Cream the cheese with the margarine, garlic, salt and flour.  If you have a stand mixer, this step is a snap.  Add enough milk so that mixture forms a ball (about a tablespoon).  Chill for 1/2 hour.  Roll onto floured board, just like you would with sugar cookie dough.  Dough should be about 1/4 inch thick.  Cut into shapes and bake on ungreased nonstick cookie sheet at 375 for about 15 minutes. If your dogs prefer extra crispy treats (and mine do) bake for 10 minutes, turn over and bake another 10 minutes.  Makes about 2 dozen nice sized biscuits.  Best to refrigerate if they last more then a few days before they are all eaten.  They also freeze nicely too.

Addy says, "I'm so cute, don't I deserve another cheese biscuit Mom?"
